FAQ'S

How come my Outlets don't work in my bathrooms?
Our number one call is because a "GFI" plug ( an outlet with the two buttons on it trip and reset ) tripped somewhere in the house. Look in your bathrooms, wet bar, kitchen, Laundry room, garage and outside plugs ( rear patio ) for a "tripped" GFI. Push in the reset and wella you saved a service call waiting for an electrician and around a hundred dollars. This usually occurs after having a guest over, workers in your back yard using the rear plug, after it rains hard, or when your hairdryer starts to become defective.

I have about 5-8 outlets that don't work in my bedrooms, hall, kitchen, etc.
This is usually a tripped breaker. Go to your electric panel and look for the one breaker that is in the middle (strange ) position from the rest. TURN IT OFF FIRST! ( nine times out of ten people call us for tripped breakers they tried to turn it to the "on" position without turning it "off" first) THEN TURN IT ON. ask your self what may have caused it. Overloads happen for a reason most of the time. ( Hairdryers, portable heaters - we suggest never use portable heaters unless you are trying to burn down your home - microwave, toaster, refrigerator, etc. usually you have too much on the circuit and if you continue to reset the breaker it will wear out quicker than you hope for. If you find yourself resetting the same breaker more than 3 times its time to consult with an electrician about adding a "dedicated circuit" for the heavy loaded item.

My Smoke detector keeps beeping and I want to kill it!
Smoke detectors start chirping when either of the following happen, 1. the battery that is in the smoke detector is dying. or 2. the smoke detector is dying. ( this can happen in dusty conditions more such as having your home painted etc ) Our recommendations are the following... Have us replace your smoke detectors throughout your home with Smoke / carbon monoxide detectors with Lithium batteries installed. They should last a good 7 years. The average life span of smoke detectors is 5 years and it is recommended by manufacturers and the to replace them every 5 years. The national fire protection agency suggests every 10 years.

Electronic equipment and Light bulbs don't seem to last long at my home. Is there anything I can do to make it last longer?
Two things I suggest. 1. Have an electrician test your home for Surges and voltage problems. 2. Install whole house surge protection and fix any voltage drops in your home. Voltage drops are quite prevalent in larger homes and there are some things that can be done to help make your electronic equipment last longer. Surge protection is a necessity that every home should have in every electrical panel in the home. every item in your home with an electronic circuit board is susceptible to surges and kills the life span of your electronic items These items are; computers, Televisions, Printers, Stereo systems, Dimmers, HVAC systems, Home Automation systems, audio video equipment, fax machines, microwave ovens, phone systems, cordless phones, routers, modems, etc. Most surges come from within the home. Then there is the Power outage and the surge it brings when the power comes back on. Whole house Surge protection usually will solve 99% of your surge problems.
